Your basic buttermilk biscuit.

Ingredients
- 2 c (10 oz) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 c cold buttermilk
- 8 Tbsp + 2 Tsbp unsalted butter, melted and cooled for 5 minutes
Procedure
Oven @ 475 F, center rack
- Line a rimmed sheet with parchment.
- In mixing bowl: whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt together.
- In another mixing bowl: combine buttermilk and 8 Tbsp butter, stir until clumpy.
- Add butter mix to dry ingredients. Stir with rubber spatula until just incorporated and batter pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Using a greased 1/4 c measure, scoop out level amount of batter and drop onto sheet (approx. 2.25 in diameter, 1.25 in height). Scoop all the batter.
- Bake 12-14 minutes.
- Brush tops with 2 Tbsp melted butter. Let cool 5 min on wire rack.
